has been thrown into a panic or as near to one as he will ever be thrown by a telegraphic answer received in reply to an enquiry from his principals in London concerning the Star Ferry Co.

The answer reads as follows:-

"Star Ferry understand harbour planning committee here under Nicholl engineer recommending tunnel in place of ferries and meanwhile Yaumati should possibly take over Star Ferry.

I have told Paterson that I know nothing of this but that I will find out if possible. will remember in London that we considered the possibility of a cross harbour tunnel and abandoned it on grounds of expense among others.
